How it all Began
Founder, Sharon Craig. After my mother passed away, I was devastated. One day while I was driving, I prayed for a sign. When I turned the corner, there it was. a sign. It said “Volunteer cheer coaches needed. I contacted them and began coaching.
I met so many wonderful children. Some families were faced with financial challenges or other obstacles.
In 2018 Sharon began researching the all-star cheer program. After finding that most ALL-STAR programs were unaffordable for most. In 2019 Sharon opened a nonprofit organization in Newnan, Georgia that would be affordable for all. The second location opened in Cedar Hill, Texas in 2023
Our Mission
SPARKz AS Cheerleading aims to solve the division in all-star cheer that enables families from participating in competitive sport activities because of expensive prices. We've been given this opportunity to help athletes of all ages experience all-star cheerleading. They are given the opportunity to travel to new cities, meet new people, and compete against some of the best cheer teams in all-star. We don't just teach cheer; we also teach values. Our cheerleaders learn the importance of dedication, accountability and commitment.
Our goal is to one day have our own gym. We would provide uniforms, practice wear and a bus for the team for transportation to and from competitions. My belief is that all things can be achieved through hard work and dedication.
Since the creation of the organization, our team has been able to make some serious strides. We've been able to create a change for the better nationwide. Our impact stretches from Newnan, Georgia to Cedar Hill, Texas.
We look forward to continuing work for the betterment of our youth in the community and surrounding areas.

No All Star Left Behind
In 2021 I met girl named Kayla. She joined my squad. She was 11 years old. I’ll never forget that day. I arrived at the cheer studio in Newnan, Georgia. There was a car parked out front with a child sitting in the car with her grandmother/guardian. They sat they for about an hour or so before I went out to see if they needed assistance. That’s when this beautiful brown skinned girl looked at me and gave me the biggest smile. She told me that she wanted to be a cheerleader. I said sure. We’d love to have her on the team. I invited her inside. That’s when I noticed she would not lift her head up. I asked her what was wrong. She explained how children at her school made fun of her dark skin. I talked to her until I made her smile.
I asked her what would she like to learn? She said that she wanted to learn how to become a flyer. So, every practice when I arrived, she would be waiting outside. After a few weeks of practicing, I noticed that when she came through the door she was no longer looking down. She walked in with her head held high. She was smiling and full of confidence. Ater about a month, Kayla learned how to fly. Competitions were coming up and we were ready. Her grandmother reached out, and was unable to get the competition shoes, I offered to purchase them, for her but she declined. Her pride just would not let her accept. The following weekend Kayla was absent from practice. During the time she would have been practicing, my phone started ringing back-to-back. When I answered I was informed that Kayla and her grandmother both had just drowned in a lake. I was devastated. I refuse to lose another child. With the help of the community and sponsorship we can help these children together.
In Memory of Kayla
